Newly Identified Fortified Manors in the Kolín Region
The article deals with two newly identified fortified manors in the Kolín Region. The small fortification discovered between the villages of Pašinka and Bohouňovice has not been published in literature. It is a fortified manor situated along a distinctive terrain edge above the Polepka River valley. It is enclosed by a rampart and a ditch. The second recently identified fortified manor is located near the church in the village of Drahobudice. It has survived in a heavily damaged state, as it is almost completely covered with buildings from the 18th–20th centuries. Although this fortification has not appeared in literature, it was hypothetically considered an early medieval fortified settlement. The article presents plan documentation of both localities.
