A Testimony on the Relationship Between Old Routes and Selected Locations in the Lower Posázaví Region
Given the lack of extensive archaeological research into noble residences and urban centres, one possible approach to gain new insights is to analyse their connection to the former main roads that once passed through the landscape. This method is particularly valuable when there is very little chance of uncovering new written sources or architectural elements that could shed more light on the origins or functions of the sites in question. The article discusses the results of the analysis of connections between the selected locations in the lower Posázaví Region and the long-distance routes passing through it, aiming to provide further significant arguments for the discussion on the history and nature of the locations concerned.
